Routine Go Kart Maintenance

In addition to the Pre-Drive Inspection. The following routine maintenance should be performed as well.

  • Use a Trickle Charger. Keep a trickle charger on the battery when not riding the go-kart. This will help keep the battery level at full charge and the go-kart ready to ride.
  • Change Engine Oil. Change the engine oil when the oil has a black tint or change the oil every 10 hours of use.
  • Replace Air Filter. Replace the air filter yearly or whenever daylight cannont be seen through the paper element. Dry and dusty conditions allow the air filter to become clogged at a much faster rate. Be aware of driving conditions.
  • Service Torque Converter. If your go-kart has a torque converter drive system (Mid XRS, Mid XRX, MudHead), service the torque converter on a regular basis.

We strongly suggest all go kart riders wear a DOT approved full face helmet. Operating a go kart comes with risks and you should prepare yourself and other riders with the proper gear. For children, we recommend a helmet and a set of goggles. For adults, there are lots of options with built in face shields. See some of our suggestions below.
